Transformation happens in relationship. Few battles are won by throwing scripture in people's face and hoping to sway their opinion. Using the Bible as our foundation is helpful; using it as a battering ram is not.
Because here's the thing: I don't think scripture changes minds; I think people change minds. Loving someone who challenges your beliefs is - in my experience - the most likely way to crack open our shells of assumption and rationalization and begin to see the light of another way of thinking.
